Broad objectives:

Representing trees and shrubs from Manchuria and South-eastern Siberia, Japan Korea, North China and Central China plus temperate species SE Asia
 

Present Position Description:
Eastern Asia has several sections at the Arboretum:-
a) Oriental garden - between carpark and kiosk - A collection of small trees, shrubs and ground covers from Eastern Asia. About 500m2;  with a small creek flowing through. About 140 plants 
b) NE of lake, area of about 1 ha plus a strip on the east side of the lake between the water and road. 
c) The avenue of trees from the stone entrance gates to the car park as well as a small area outside the gates. 
d) About 1.5 ha  on the west side of the Entrance Driveway currently under developement with camellias and magnolias
e) Himalaya east side of the entrance driveway - (section as yet undeveloped
