This advisory notice describes the Suggested Walks shown in the Visitors Guide

Class 1 describes the internal ring road shown as 2 continuous parallel lines and not including the branch to the bridge over the Don River. Generally a broad, hard surfaced track suitable for wheelchair use. Width 1200mm [about 4ft] or more. Well maintained with minimal intrusions. Users need no previous experience and are expected to exercise normal care regarding their safety.

Class 2 describes the Main Circuit [Suggested Walk 1] and Don River [Suggested Walk 4]. Generally a modified or hardened surface. Width 900mm [3ft] or more. Well maintained with minimal intrusions. Generally no steeper than 1 in 10. Minimal use of steps. Users need no previous experience and are expected to exercise normal care regarding their safety.

Class 3 describes all other tracks including Suggested Walks 2, 3, and 5.
Generally a modified surface, sections may be hardened. Width variable and generally less than 1200mm [4ft]. Kept mostly clear of intrusions. May exceed 1 in 10 for short sections but generally no steeper than 1 in 10. Steps may be common.
Users need no bushwalking experience and a minimum level of specialized skills. Users may encounter natural hazards such as steep slopes, unstable surfaces and minor water crossings. You are responsible for your own safety. Storms may affect navigation and safety.

Class 6 describes the possibilities that could be encountered over the balance of the Tasmanian Arboretum

As the standard relates to the least improved part of a track we make this comment. The grassed areas are of a lesser Track Class.  No modification of the natural environment. May include steep sections of unmodified surfaces. Signage is not generally provided. Users may require previous experience in the outdoors and a high level of specialized skills. Users may need to be self reliant, particularly in regard to emergency first aid.

Storms and severe weather may affect safety. Beware of falling branches.
